Volleyball Life

Her face glistens up as soon as she sees me says the school bus

Game faces were everywhere says the mirrors on the bus

The anticipation flows heavenly through the bus

Prayers fly through the air

Everyone uniting their hands in pairs

Drills were our warm-ups

Coach puts our hopes up

As she says the other team does not play as well

Just remember kneepads go before your shoes

Come and start your game please says the court

Referees call the captains

Then you know it’s real

The adrenaline goes through your veins

That’s all you can feel

Its game time says coach

As I serve the soft as a babies butt volleyball all eyes are on me

The ball soars like a rocket

As it thuds on the floor on the opponents’ side

The setter hears me as I yell out the number 2

Sure enough I get the kill and a pat on the back too

The suspenseful score is never reviled to us
