Born voiceless only to be taught to speak

Yet deprived from being yourself

Wear a uniform!

No pierced ears!

Don’t talk in class!

Our voice is gone once again

What happened to freedom of speech?

We are brainwashed by our superiors

The future looks bleak

I envision puppets so beautiful yet lifeless

Controlled by evil

Why doesn’t anyone see the problem?!

Equality will never be found

We are the future, us teenagers

Make me debate over war, abortion, sexism

Have me interpret art

Let me write with no topic

Ask me what I would change and I would say everything.
