A vision for the future

Wed, 07/31/2013 - 05:36 -- Wenjing

When I step outside my door, I see the world standing in front of me.  My eyes open wide and I see buildings, houses, apartments, skyscraper, cars, buses and people. I hear the voices of my neighbors, yelling at each other and honking cars, the typical traffic in the morning.  I see old buildings and I see construction of new buildings. I look up in to the sky, and all I see is skyscrapers, and if I squint just a little I would see a piece of the beautiful blue sky and little white soft clouds. The Ocean is silent, because animals have left it, disappeared and never seen again. People are all around us, surrounding the land where they lived. Trees are nowhere to be found, the only green I see is the little peeks of grass on the sidewalk, and I see their eagerness to rise and live.

If I have the ability I would change the world. To see it the way it was suppose to be seen. The first step is to protect our environment. I would change society and how people live.  Changing people’s ways of life will first protect our environment and the living species in it.  When more people are aware of their surroundings, they will understand that we live on earth, and it’s important to live alongside the different creatures that also live in it. I would change it, so instead of constructing new buildings, plant trees and flowers and grass. I would change the air pollution, by decreasing the use of cars and buses, so the Co2 in the air would also decrease. I would change the way the poor live on the streets, to stop poverty and having to see the looks on the poor children’s faces. I would open more shelters for the poor, but also for the homeless animals walking the streets, I want each of them to have a place to call home.

I wonder what it would be like to lay in an area of grass and look up into the sky; I would be able to see the whole universe and maybe even mars. I would see the stars twinkling in the night sky as the bright moon smile at me. I stand from a distance, and I would see the peeks of the mountain tops, I would hear birds sing with joy and smell the fresh water from the riverside. I dream of the day when I can see the blue ocean clear and clean, to watch the whale, dolphins and fishes live in harmony. A place where we wouldn’t have to worry about the future and our grand children and generations to come, because we know they will be safe.
