Virtues

Kindness is giving that homeless man some change.

But it takes love to give him a bath, a bed, and a meal.

Patience is waiting on your children to get back from school.

But it takes love to not give up on your child with autism.

Goodness is returning that lost wallet.

But it takes love to fight for justice for the oppressed.

Humility is volunteering with your local soup kitchen.

But it takes love to travel halfway around the world to help those in need.

Happiness is enjoying the fruit of your labor.

But it takes love to rejoice in your friend's success and celebrate them.

Peace is promoting a nonviolent protest.

But it takes love for a protestor to bring water to the guards.

Faith is getting engaged and saying, "I do."

But it takes love to stay.

Self-control is resisting the urge to cheat on an exam.

But it takes love to discourage your friend from cheating by helping them study.

Love is all these things and more.

If you do nothing else my friends, love.
