Veins

Now tell me was it worth it when the needle hit your vein

Did you get that tingle that took away all the pain?

And did you think I believed you when you told me all those lies?

I knew you were different, I could see it in your eyes

It was your escape from reality, a sort of dream

But you now know things are not always as they seem

And even though I'm hurt, turning my back is something I would never do

Because in that suffering face, I can still see the person i once knew
