The Valley

My treading through this dark valley has been limited.

I have tiptoed 'round its edges

And have sometimes seen

what the shadow of death

does to those who feel alone.

I have seen those trapped in the valley;

They have given up on all but themselves,

and some do not even have hope in that.

I know that everyone must one day pass through this dark place,

But I trust in My Shepard to lead me through.

For when I am in the darkest shadow,

His glory and His love

Will light my way

to the green pastures

and the still waters

that are waiting.

There will be a place with no more pain.

A place with only light and joy.

A place where the valley is only a memory.
