Vacancy

My spirit cuts through me to reach you.
A red, ridged line follows its breakthrough.
So watch me as I fall, grasping for reach.
I land, with every moan, a twisted speech.

Forward I fly once again,
Only to be lost in a place so foreign.
My chest starts to cave in,
A vacant hole resides just beneath the skin.

Both lost eyes wander, I hope to see prints,
A place where feet have stepped, but didn’t.
And again, slice, straight through my back,
Each breath screams for you to help counteract.

Disappointment burns through my blood,
My torso rests with a thud.
I will lie here forever until you return.
Watching and waiting for the one I yearn.
