Perhaps we have fallen, but not from the sky.
We have fallen from our skyscrapers, our technologies, and our humility.
We have yet to and perhaps may never see the heights of man,
For our ascension falters in the face of our egoism.
And yet, in this time when I look up,
I do not see falling angels...I see falling hope and growth.
In such a time, one would expect the civility and ambition of man to reconstruct or bandage the wings of transcendence,
Yet such is shifted and lies within the abyss of bad faith.
Perhaps man will teach himself to fly without wings...
