Untitled 2

We thought you were safe.

We thought you were kind.

We thought you cared for us the way we cared for you

But now I think you never

Cared for anyone but you.

We’ve been hurt many times

By many different people

We were ready to try love again

Only to find out your feelings,

Well, they were never true.

So sit on your high horse

Pretending to be the knight in shining armor

While in reality we cringe

At the very sound

Of that infernal jingle.

If you had done it only to me

I never would have cared

But because you did it to those I care for

If I ever even could,

I would never forgive myself for forgiving you.
