The Unnamed Cross

Klang, Klang, Klang

My name could've been Susie.

or it could've been Billy.

Klang, Klang, Klang

I could've had a teddy bear

With a pretty red bow,

Or a little blue train

That went "choo-choo."

Klang, Klang, Klang

I could've picked you wildflowers

And kiss your cheek.

Klang, Klang, Klang

I might've been the star student

Who always loved to read.

Klang, Klang, Klang

Maybe I was meant to be a master at chess

Or the senior prom queen.

Klang, Klang, Klang

I could've cured cancer

Or be an artist with amazing paintings

Or a singer with an angel's voice

Or even president.

Klang, Klang, Klang

Yet all there is of me

Is an unnamed cross

Placed by a stranger.

Klang, Klang, Klang

All I do know

Is that you could've been my mother,

Klang, Klang, Klang

And I could've been your son or daughter

Klang..Klang..Klang..
