The Unnamable Thing
I feel it coming near
I always know it’s there
Like a wave it can pull me under
And there’s nothing I can do
With unfathomable power
It sweeps me away
I know when I’m sinking
I have no control
Don’t listen to the words I spit
When I’m drowning in this
A name won’t do it justice
So I’ll try to explain
I feel it in colors
It changes my vision
Into the hues of
Blue, gray, and black
They cloud my thoughts
I cannot avoid them
In a second it’s gone
I’m not under its spell
I feel it in the shadows
It comes with the tide
Only controlled by the moon
There’s no hope for me
