The Unknown Soldier

The cemetery is empty

The cold rain leaves marks on the stones

Every tomb has a name

Except one

Unknown soldier 1864 it reads

An abandoned stone,

A forgotten man,

Forgotten by his family,

And now forgotten by the world,

How does one judge a man they have never met,

Was he kind,

Was he inpatient or gentle,

All these questions will never be answered,

The rain leaves tear stains on the stone,

of the man who was forgotten by the world
