Unity

As the wooden doors of the church open

The girl enters the room

She sweeps up the air like a broom

My thoughts of her are now consumed

She is like a flower, you watch her bloom

She lived around the corner, down the street, the room next door

She had the perfect combination of grace and allure

Her presence made you feel so sure

Her leaving your side left you wanting more

There is no struggle when she clasps your hand

She helped me pray, she helped me stand

Why be away from her when you could stand with her

The glimmer of hope she brings gets so much bigger

You can see the change she brings to the world

She is a treasure, she is a pearl

She is strong, bold and fearless in the face of injustice

The one who stands for truth and everyone trusts this.

This leaves her standing because she refuses to sit back

To sit back is to lose track and risk the future being left to the trap

The glow in her smile

The change her voice brings

The warm feeling of love, let it ring

Where Black and White are no longer colors

We stand back to back with our sisters and brothers.

And only look at the colors God made

The red blood flowing through our veins.

It's funny how I feel as if I've known her all my life

But I've never actually met her in my life

The more we uncover, the more we see

 Her blissful face

Her name is unity

Unity

Unite

Come together

Stronger we stand

Divided we fall

Freedom for all

Are there instructions?

Can we reach the possibilities of this word

What do we have to do?

Is there Anything we can do?

Have we done it already?

Has it already been achieved?

Does unity embody a single roll

Or the works of it can be a goal

Wrapped in a single statement or found within one person

These are the questions we must ask ourselves and keep working

Towards a world free of hate , full of love

But the more we waste time doom will become our fate

The uncertainty is frustrating

 The reality is depressing

Hope we come together and learn a lesson

Or our babies will be born into ciaos, a world of disorder

People marched and fought so that my dream wouldn't be like Martin's: a speech for THEE order.

We must lock arms and stand together

To leave behind a world much better

Run with me

Stand by me

Be Beside me

Be free

We will all be one together

Unity
