Unfettered Feather
Here I am, just a leaf, a feather
Unchained and unchanged by the wind
Sliding idly by. A dog barks, waiting for me
To lift off the boy's bike where on his seat I recline
He still notices me, waving my fingers to him
But the boy doesn't care, asking him to stop his yapping.
Ah, the breeze greets me with a pat and now I am loose on the puff of air.
Lifting higher I still gaze for his blue bike
Who is now stuck within the bush, where he had fallen off and a blood clot
On his leg makes him tear
I am just a feather, unfettered and free.
