Teachers are terribly underpaid,

Don’t you know?

A rough estimate:

Five dollars an hour.

About what a waitress would make,

If she were lucky anyway.

Can you imagine?

The teacher,

Who does so much for us,

Living on the wages

Of a lucky waitress.
