Under the heavens are living souls in wonderfully made bodies;
Formed by the Breather of Life and given a will, mind, and emotions;
Perfection was achieved by the designer of all creatures
On the man made of earth and filled with air.
Destined was he to worship you, LORD, with all fervor,
And discover your wisdom that puts mighty angels at awe.
Such devotion in our design proves a care that is not comprehensible!
If only our hearts did not foster pride;
That if our walk with you had been faithful,
We would not have become infected with impurity,
And divided in relationship by iniquity.
But now, we are brightened by the Light of the World,
Jesus Christ, who fulfilled your Word that we may be rescued from Hell
To magnify your gracious name!
