Uncharted Territory (Abridged)

Silence,

The night sky is clear at this moment.

Flash.

DON’T MOVE YOU TWO!

They are frozen, we are frozen.

Frozen, not because it’s cold but because our blood is chilled in a different way.

The five, stuck in this moment, in this unbelievable moment

Paralyzed not only of our bodies but of our hearts

In a state of confusion, in a state of weakness

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK

I see those two but I don’t see them

My brothers outside on the ground, my house flooded with light

I have no idea why but I know, I know what is happening and now for us time is frozen

All three hearts drop in unison because we are supposed to becoming one

So if this shit really goes down, then a part of me is lost and won’t see the rising sun

And across the town, my other two hearts are beating normally

Unbeknownst that they could wake up to the most horrible of late night calls

So while those two hearts beat slow, the other three still run fast

until they hear...

ALL CLEAR, NO MATCH

We believe these words have been spoken but our senses don’t work

We survived this attack and yet feel no sense of anything

We are prisoners in our own skin and are forever restricted because color is the enemy

The only thing real is that this could happen again to me

To we

To us

We will be on edge for the rest of our days because we fit every description

We look like the enemy

But for now, the night sky is clear and five hearts are grateful that two didn’t venture into uncharted territory
