Unbeknownst To Me

There’s no road I have not traveled,

And if there’s one I did not take,

Then that one leads to happiness,

The kind I cannot make.

For despite the power and riches I possess,

Both shown in my demeanor and upon my dress,

I have never found this so-called ”joy”,

which few so knowingly address.

Will I ever come across it

After searching far and wide,

If there’s no path gone uncovered,

Nor nook where it could hide?

The answer’s rather simple

(a long search for just one find):

True happiness lies nowhere else

than within an ignorant mind.
