Unapologetic

To the people who beg for my tale:

Why do you think you're deserving?

Are you apart of some elaborate game show

where the first one who hears the tragdey

gets some big prize?

No

I don't owe you my story

You don't get to be graced with my pain

To plead the fifth will be the only thing

you hear from me

"But the way to empower is reclaiming your story"

yes, you're right

but not when I'm forced to share

forced to hide my emotions

forced to speak when I'd rather do anything else

My right to be silent is the right to chose.

to chose who hears this side of my life

who qualifies as important

My silence isn't a weakness

It sits patiently

waiting

like a tiger waiting for the pounce

So, to you, beggers

I will not share my tale

I don't have to speak if I don't want to

and frankly,

why should I?
