two scented candles
our flames flicker on the windowsill,
light swaying against the night sky.
our scents weave together
my ylang-ylang, sweet and heady,
your amber, warm with spice.
alone, I am too soft,
you, too sharp,
but together, we are something new.
the air hums with our perfume,
a world only we can breathe in,
a feeling only we can name.
wax will drip, flames will dim,
but for now,
just us two,
burning, whole.
