The Twelve Horrors of High School for Hercules
1) Breaking the mold
Everyone has a unique sense of style
For Hercules, this is especially so
He wears fur at least each day
The other students may stare, but it’s okay
2) Homework
With the day being done, doing homework assignments has begun
Hercules having a pile to get through
He finishes one, but then it becomes two
By the end of the night, it’s defeated and out of sight
3) Goals
People have goals and ambitions
Hercules is no different
Chasing a dream for an entire year
At the end of it all, he’s going to cheer
4) Catching up with old Friends
In the halls, on his way to class
Hercules bumps into a friend from the past
They talk for a second, have a good time
Before they have to go on the drop of a dime
5) Organizing
Mess after mess strewn about
Hercules’ locker needs to be cleaned out
He brings in a hose to do the job
He’ll need that as well as a mop
6) Thinking outside the box
Most students just tend to give up
But Hercules thinks outside the box
Finding a way to do what he needs
He blows the teachers away with his grades
7) Doing what is asked
Obtaining something is hard, usually
Especially when it isn’t someone’s specialty
Hercules solves the problem quickly
If only all of high school came so easily
8) Voice of Reason
Two students duking it out in the hall
Everyone gathers to watch the fall
Hercules steps in and breaks it up
Those people had ran out of luck
9) Rumors
Stories come and go each day
Unfortunately, some rumors stay
Hercules now looking like a bully
Hera made him look so silly
10) Grit
A school year, always long and drawn out
Papers get lost as well as thoughts, too
Hercules will do everything he can to round them up
And when Hera comes along, there’s no bump
11) Don’t be afraid to ask for help
Straight A’s so far out of reach
One more test, that’s all he needs
Hercules can’t do it all
Atlas came and took the lead
12) Getting out of your comfort zone
High school allows for expression and discovery
This includes joining clubs, no matter how scary
Hercules had a chance to meet Cerberus, a member’s dog
Which he showed the principal, who nervously laughed it off
