A TRIBUTE TO THE PROTAGONIST OF INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM

Read somewhere the exceptional stoy of a daring iconoclast,
a dynamic mind, much ahead of time,
radical and revolutionary in the world of mass media.
she was a wonder women, brough acclaim, no one can imagine by feigning lunacy, when provoked by the peer's dogmatism.

The unprecedented exposure brought instant acclamation,
her courage and perseverance got rewarded,
Nellie Bly, the name, became the icon of journalism.

Elizabeth Jane Cochran,
ravaged by the trials and tribulations of the financial crisis, bade adieu to further education:
A gifted talent was she, tried her hand to challenge the prevailing stereotyping perceptions.

Heaven's grace falled, her maiden appearance was acclaimed, when the New York World
published the rebuttal, on Blackwell's Island in a six point series.
The event brought her instant fame and she revived like Phoenix from the ashes,
there got the dustinct direction as columnist, by the pen name Nellie Bly;
sobriquet, the pioneer of the genre of Investigative Journalism.

Not to be missed, her struggle before entering the insane asylum,
those nightmarish six months in Mexico, when was penning
the plight of Mexicans, collided with the the erstwhile government
with one of her articles, resulted in banishment.

Irony! In the whirlpool of mundane upheavals, the once stardom was obliterated from the peoples' genre.
yet untamed determined spirit unabated in the face of relentless trials and challenges,
Bly returned to journalism with a massive coverage of women suffrage movement and world War 1.
Noteworthy, she was an unrivalled inspiration for the globetrotters,
when she enthralled the followers by encompassing the world tour in mere 72 days.

A competing paper sent their own reporter to try and beat the heroism of the unfettered spirit,
Entered as a rival, but failed to leg behind the gusty traverse of the iconoclast.
Her journey was covered as unprecedented Race Against Time, by newspapers and journals.
What's more, she received parents for several inventions, including a stacking garbage and innovative milk can!

A few lines of homage to the classic pen, the icon of true heroism, who made the footprint perennial, by the progressive penning in the sand of iconoclasm!
