Tree branch roads

I sit under this leafy-oak tree
And trace the railroads that I have traveled
Sap-creased bark that is chipping away from its branches
Brown leaves crumbling to the floor
There are thousands of paths
Any one
I could have been granted
But here I stay
Riding along this one way road
Bumps, curves, and a street
That follows along wherever I may take it
The itchy, yet cold green grass lies beneath me
Still finding a way to grow
And I take this path
Not knowing when it is going to end
But I tell myself that I just have to keep on driving
Because one day,
Hopefully,
Ever-so-brightly;
I will reach my destination
