Transformations

Sun, 06/09/2019 - 15:45 -- jgizzo

Sheepishly peering

from behind mom's thigh,

to confidently leading

conducting bands and club meetings

Sobbing and panicking

on lines for kiddie rides,

to living for the thrill

and the drop from down the hill

Wondering if I alone

would ever be enough,

to loving everything about myself

perhaps a little too much

Anxious and afraid

of changes to my plans,

to learning to flow like the wind

and to let others win

These past few years have taught me

more than I would've ever believed,

and through it all I now can say

I love the woman I am today
