Since when did music revolve around sex, money, and clothes
And fame of those that are only famous because they know
How to put four chords together and repeat. And repeat. And repeat.
The same beat that’s been bought as many times as there are songs the same
And you can blame society's mindset, of how some people don't even mind that
Music changed from showing expression to glamorizing possessions.
Since when did dance need age ratings, half dressed women, and lights to illuminate the shame the art has become. Just eliminate what's been done
kill the track, look back at the fact that dance is supposed to be an art.
.
Since when did the color of my skin
and the shape of my eyes give you the right to despise.
If joking a race to any face might offend one person in any place, then it's not funny, and nobody likes a bad joke. These types of jokes, these stereotypes, don't give you the right to judge, you can't judge if you don't know the case, so get off my case, away from my face, and out of my space…because
you
don't
know
my
race.
Since when was clothing more than a necessity
more than fabricated expression
Now, people only dress to impress and aim to make the rest feel second best.
Less isn't more, so their clothes should be the right size, they need to realize
That shows how they neglect dignity and self-respect.
On their sleeve they wear their passion, but desperation is not in fashion.
Desperation isn't the new black
Your clothes don't make up for the self-confidence that you lack.
Since when was communication not face to face and always reliant on technology? Since when could three letters replace genuine laughter
And after fights you could hide behind your screen?
You can’t see that my profile is not me.
Friends make cliques, and clicks make friends.
Online, "friends" are just strangers with personality traits. It's fake.
It's funny how there’s more expression on your Facebook than on your face.
Emoticons don't show emotion, or replace devotion, they show how you can't talk to me in person…
Since when was love just sex and lust
nothing to do with compassion and trust
has no effect when said yet "hate" does,
infatuation, a misunderstood desperation, or
just a title for communication
Items sold at many locations, bought.
Love isn't what I thought
I thought love was an emotion…
guess it's not.
When will we draw the line?
When racist jokes turn to threats and genocide?
When our grandchildren dance naked?
When clean versions of songs simply have no lyrics?
When toddlers don't need to learn how to talk?
When technology is a new system to the body?
When love leaves the same effect as hate?
When....we can't tolerate anymore.
You can try to walk in my shoes but you can't see through my eyes
this knowledge of problems that our generation denies
And redefines all these topics so they seem more appealing.
I feel that we'll keep pushing the limit, but we're already over the edge.
Free falling
I'm calling it overdosed with our mindset
Not to mind
It
Not to mind
Anything
Keep that in mind.
