Like Today

It's days like today...

How do I feel?

Well, I don't know...

It's like a shifting sand

moved

by

Persistant, but

soft

breeze

... which is the remnants of today,

as a storm trails wind behind it...

The storm moves on, as

Countless others turn to brave its winds.

All sorts of debris shall be hurled towards

Their homes.

Many will remain standing, but some may perish.

A few shall be unharmed, but most will feel its force,

and they will all say

"It's days like today..."

It's days like today that makes you wonder:

Did that wind

happen

to find its way to me?

Or

Did the wind come

from within?

Powerful vision of persistence and wonder. Your last stanza hit like a rush and I think I will continue to think of lines such as these. I also enjoyed the way your formatted your poem because it gave it a different rhythm than it would have without it.

Thank you for sharing this,

For someone with so many poems, that's a huge compliment, thank you.

It is never about numbers, but I thank you for thinking I'm worthy of criticizing- I'm merely just giving praise where it is deserved.

Have you come across some poems that you love here on Power Poetry? I'd love to read some of your favorites

I know it's not about numbers, but it means you have much more experiance, which counts for something! :D I'm new around here and new to poem writing. I've been a reader for a while, but within the last year started writing.

I'm slowly working through other poets' works, sampling a few from each, and here's some of my favorites so far:

Now that you've commented, I have a link with which to read your poems, so I'll be leaving comments soon.

What about you? What are your favorites?

That is exactly how I started getting into poetry. I like to think of myself as a very
avid reader, and from there it went off. Words are addicting in that sense.

Some of my recent favorites are:
