Timekeeper

She is time, she is fleeting.

Without notice she slips away,

Returning at the worst moments

Only to leave too soon.

The weariness she caused aged me,

And, yet, I was doomed.

But love makes me do crazy things.

You managed to curb

My obsession until

You became my obsession.

Your expensive chains,

Your elegant hands,

Your elaborate symbols.

Yet you are no more than a symbol yourself.

My true love waits for no man,

Not even me.
