The time camewhen we no

The time came

when we no longer smiled

as we did at table 26.

Nor as we did when the rain poured on us

and we melted a kiss against a tree.

No longer did we dance as one

as we did at Bice.

The time came when we no longer turned in bed to give our love.

We came together with passion ablaze

a time ago.

But our souls never kissed

and the passion departed

   Slowly

   Silently

   Secretly

Leaving us empty

   Unknowingly

   Untrustingly

The time for leaving came

And the sea we knew the summer of 21 said of us:

      "They loved one

        Sunday

        The tide came in,

        and the tide went out"

I did love you

Believe that
