The Time Came

The time camewhen we no longer smiledas we did at table 26. Nor as we did when the rain fell on us  and we melted a kiss against a tree.  No longer did we dance as onelike we did at Bice. No longer did we turn in bed to give our love   We came together with passion ablaze  A time ago. But our souls never kissed. And the passion departed   Slowly   Silently   Secretly Leaving us empty   Unknowingly    Untrustingly The time for leaving came. The sea we knew the summer of 21 said of us:      "They loved one Sunday                   the tide came in,                   and the tide went out" I did love you Believe that 5-14-2023
