Time

Chasing her, tailing her, wanting her.

Every second, every minute, every hour, every day.

She is the most petite, little thing

I clutch my heart every time I see her move

She is beautiful, but I am not “Mr. Right”…

Time will ultimately conclude that opposites will never truly attract

We go ‘round and ‘round each other

I carefully tread near her,

But not too near

I try to keep my distance,

But always feeling a pull to move closer to her

This impulsive feeling within me

There has not been a remedy for my obsession

Nothing has clouded my mind and diluted my thoughts than her

She is the reason why I do not stop in my tracks

She is the reason why I keep moving

As an insufficient amount of sand escapes from an ominous hourglass,

Time will ultimately conclude that opposites will never truly attract

I allow myself to glance in her direction once in a while

Periodically check up on her from a distance

She is so pretty

From her leisurely saunter to her perfect posture,

She always seeks my attention

Everything aspect of her exquisiteness is shown to me

Like the intense sun

Shining and demanding

She beams down

She burns every living cell in the eyes of her spectators

Why can’t people define her as the true standard of beauty?

Time will ultimately conclude that opposites will never truly attract

Finally, the time has come

When I get to stand near my lovely

Passing each other, I am always faster than her,

But I wait patiently as the seconds tick away

This way I am one minute closer to her

As the minute passes,

I am so desperate to be beside her

Every second I ache

I can feel my inner-clock tick more rapidly,

More unsteadily as I inch faster

Closer to her

Adrenaline pumps into my veins,

As if this is a life-or-death situation

Heart races

Pulse quickens

The clock ticks off a countdown

Three, tock.

Two, tick.

One, tock.

Finally, we wait perfectly side-by-side

She twitches slightly forward

I steal cursory glances

At her stunning silhouette

Why can’t I be the right guy for her?

What will it take to get her attention?

Time will ultimately conclude that opposites will never truly attract

Tick, tock.

Before I could speak my mind,

Our moment is over

My time is up, so I proceed in front of her

Dreading to move on without her

Tick, tock.

She is way out of my league.

Hour hands and minute hands can never stay together…
