Tight Rope

Depending on how you look at it

A glass is half empty or half full.

Me? I’m teetering on the edge of the world.

I lose my balance, I may fall left or maybe even right.

The fall may be grandeur, but it might be dull-

Depending on how you look at it.

Would I squish like jelly, or explode like dynamite?

These are they things I tend to mull

While I’m teetering on the edge of the world.

I loose my balance, swing left then right to excite

My crowd. My recovery is always clumsy or graceful-

Depending on how you look at it.

And I must admit, I can perform quite

The show. But will I really ever fall?

They think I’m teetering on the edge of the world.

The net that droops mere feet beneath me is outright

Forgotten by the hoards. It’s placement perfect to lull

My fall. So, depending on how you look at it-

I’m teetering on the edge of the world.
