Tick Tock by Taicha Morin

Tick Tock by Taicha Morin

Tick Tock

Round goes the clock

September was my last first day of high school

At the bus stop

Tick Tock

Round goes the clock

October was senior pictures

And of course I got the gaps in my teeth photoshopped

Tick Tock

Round goes the clock

November was my last “thankfulness” as a high schooler

Because I was so eager to get the hell out of this “little girl” spot

Tick Tock

Round goes the clock

December we commemorate a savior, who was born to this world and died for my sin

And in heaven

He secured for me a spot

Tick Tock

Round goes the clock

January 2016  was my year

I turned 18

And the  class of 2016

We almost out of here

and heading for nothing but the the top

Tick Tock

Round goes the clock

February all the college acceptance letters were piling up to the top

And it was almost time for me to figure out

What is my next stop?

Tick Tock

Round goes the clock

March senioritis was really kicking in

We were almost to finish line

But at  the same time

There was 4 more months to go

So, we were really not

Tick Tock

Round goes the clock

April ugh I'm still in high school

Please, Jesus let this time go fast

So, I can't get the hell out of this spot

Tick Tock

Round goes the clock

May Senior Retreat got me crying nonstop

With all this reflecting and sharing with my peers

and showed me the truth

That I wanted the clock to stop

Tick Tock

Round goes the clock

June the time arrived

That my time in high school has come to a stop

Tick Tock

Round goes the clock

July It never really kicked in

That it’s almost time for me to head to my next stop

Tick Tock

Round goes the clock

August I head off to college

My next stop

Tick Tock

Round goes the clock

I look back at how fast high school went

And wish I could go back

to tell the clock to stop

Tick Tock

Round goes the clock

October I got the hang of this college thing

Tick Tock

Round goes the clock

I went to my church Thanksgiving retreat

A whole new person and not the same

Tick Tock

Round goes the clock

December we commemorate a savior, who was born to this world and died for my sin

And in heaven

He secured for me a spot

Tick Tock

Tick Tock

Tick Tock

Round goes the clock

5...4...3...2..1

Happy New Year!

Tick Tock

Round goes the clock

January 2017

I turned 19

And now belong to college scene

But it finally hit me

That I don't want to rush this time

Because one day I’ll  look back at this spot in life

And wish that I embraced every moment, minute, and second granted to me

If only the clocked had stopped...
