Things I Know
Location
I know one thing for sure
I am alive
And you are too
Even if sometimes it feels like you cannot breathe in this world
That suffocates you with autumn leaves
Because I know turtles can breathe through their nose and butts
So there must be another way to fill your lungs.
And if beavers can swim half a mile with one gulp of oxygen
Than you can survive the waves that come crashing down so just hold onto your breath
And save it for the moment you meet that special person that takes it away.
They used to tell me
Color the grass green, the skies blue and cows black and white
But I bet they didn’t know
Hippo’s milk is pink, grass can be yellow, and sunsets paint the skies purple
So I can color the way I please
I know that honey never spoils
And Betty White is older than sliced bread
So you better be thankful your momma packed your lunch
Because she is the sweetest thing you got
Once you step into the real world you got no mama bird to feed you
But don’t worry because stressed spelled backwards is desserts
So keep your eyes peeled for the sugars in life.
After all more monopoly money is printed everyday than money from the US treasury
So life is just a game and you just gotta pass Go.
And just because we are different colors doesn’t make us any less human
Because I know for a fact you eat the whole bag of skittles.
So why you gotta look down at the people who are crippled inside
After all we all come from Adam and Eve and we share fifty percent of our DNA with bananas.
So we are all crazy in our own little ways,
Because nine out ten people who are struck with lightning survive.
So it’s in our veins to not let anything strike us down
We just gotta believe.
I also know that octopuses have three hearts
So be careful when you play with mine because it’s delicate and I only have one.
And did you know it rains diamonds in Saturn
So just imagine how beautiful it must be when we all go up to heaven.
You are alive
And so am I
That’s one thing I know for sure
