They way your love caresses me

They way your love caresses me
I almost forget that we are chained together
That my skin is decorated in purple blue bruises
Evidence that you have claimed me
When I am wrapped up in your arms
I forget that those very same hands have been wrapped around my neck
Have slammed my head into walls
Have caused me to fall
When you kiss me
It's like our souls become one
That you breathe through me
and I through you
One and the same
I forget that you are the very one
Who made me lose my breath
Almost crushing my chest
Not allowing me to draw breath
Made my lungs struggle for what you felt you owned
My Life

The way your love envelopes me
I can almost forget
It was you who drew me back from the precipice of regret
Of Falling into the pain and the anguish
And Making it all End
But I can't forget the way you make my arms bend
Breaking limbs for your pleasure
Splitting skin with your fists
Sharpen knives criss-cross cutting marks into my skin
Sharpen words etching worthlessness into my heart
Making me feel Nothing
Making me feel Empty
Making me fell owned, used, discarded, dirty
Worthless
I am not your property
I am not your love
I am not your scars and sacrifices, your bullies that haunt you, taunt you, tell you to pound pound pound your pain into someone else
Until you think you cannot feel anymore
But you can always feel
Feel my love, pure, honest true
Know that I care for you
But that I have to care for me too
So it is time for us part ways
Say Goodbye my love
And learn how to say hello
to your soul
