I am willing to bet that it will have been tested on animals.
Forced on animals. Assaulted on animals.
Innocent, unwilling animals that were put here on earth to serve humans.
At least, that’s what the Catechism says.
“Animals, like plants and inanimate beings, are by nature destined for the common good of past, present, and future humanity.” (CCC 2415)
By this logic, humans should be able to use animals for whatever purpose they see fit.
I know you’ve seen the photos. The pictures of the awful things done to animals in testing labs. Where they keep the poor creatures. How they treat them.
I know you’ve seen the commercials on television. The ads sponsored by ASPCA begging for your help in saving these animals.
The Catechism goes on, “Animals are God’s creatures. He surrounds them with his providential care. By their mere existence they bless Him and give Him glory. Thus we owe them kindness.” (CCC 2416)
Not everyone on the planet is Catholic or believes in the same things I do.
But I believe that everyone on the planet has a heart.
And deep in each person’s heart is a goodness, a kindness.
Please, I beg of you. Direct your kindness towards all earthly creatures.
Treat your fellow human beings with the respect they deserve.
Treat the environment that supports you with the respect it deserves. It is saving your life after all?
And treat animals, great or small, with the respect they deserve.
Don’t let the circus elephants be chained up anymore.
Don’t let the pure white bunny rabbits be force fed drugs that could kill a man anymore.
Don’t let the freedom-seeking monkeys live without seeing the sun anymore.
Don’t buy makeup or health products that test on animals anymore.
But most of all, don’t let the issue of animal testing go unacknowledged anymore.
Those animals deserve a voice.
And why the hell can’t it be yours?
