There's Nothing You'll Need More
I could sit here and talk about
How all I need is an amount
Of money to make my life worth living.
But in the webs of subtle things
That this world of bustling
I can’t think of one thing more necessary.
It’s always there to help you out
To carry the load when legs give out
It shoulders burdens, especially when you can’t.
For some, it yields time to reflect
For others, it’s time to respect
The simple things that seem to give us joy.
Always a source of great relief
Though some visits are rather brief
Most, however, last longer than you’d wish.
And at the end of the long day
There’s not too much that’s left to say
Except your need to be with it a while.
Oh great and round and porcelain throne
Come crown me king of this, my home
The toilet, there’s nothing you’ll need more.
