There You Are

The moon is peaking through the clouds

Leaves ruffle as I walk these empty streets

Unusual thoughts come to my mind

 Memories that now bring uncertainty

It was awkward enough to say goodbye

An invitation had been laid on top of the doormat

A tiny rose stuck to the back of the envelope

An inscription read …

Can’t wait to see you again.”

The wind blows through my hair,

My heart still beats like a drum,

I open the door to a tiny room,

So many questions come to my mind

Yet my face glows as I think of you
