Theme for English B

I open my veins,

And let it spill.

I was told to write a page,

So write I will.

No walls, no curtains,

Just a sheet of my heart

Writing gives me strength

From falling apart.

Homeschooled I was,

Tomboy I am.

I try fitting in,

But I’m the black lamb.

Struggling with myself,

With the walls I fortify,

With the disheartening pain,

Unable to love I wonder why.

No one knows,

The brittle Emily

If they did

They’d only scorn me.

I mount a longboard,

Dirt biking is my sport,

But poems I read,

And words I contort.

Happy I am,

And happy you’ll see

Happy is the thing I know

The only thing I can really be

My cold stone heart,

I’m hoping you’ll free,

Here is my page,

For my beloved English B.

This is great. It sounds a lot like something I'd write. I love it.
