Tenuous Memories

I was taken at once

You never knew what would come

You let me float away

Flying on your diamond tears

You never knew

I am not there

I am not anywhere for you

They took me at once

Burning from your embrace

And I flew away

You, you make me sorrow

You make me want to soar

I never wanted this

Your heart was never there

We have taken to the ground

You, you make me different

You make me choose a side

But my mind isn’t as fine

Your heart was never there

We were never meant to know

All you want is to know

Oh, you, you crave the knowledge

You never made it far

While I sank low

You never knew

All I could do is fall

Drowning in this

The sun will rise

It will set on your surprise

You’ll watch me soar away

You, you make me run

You make me want to hold the moon

I didn’t make it long

Your heart was never there

We have taken to the ground

You, you make me ripple

You make me want to know

The sun will set on this

And then we will never know

We were never meant to know
