Tender Holds

Off the horizon,

The island is seen off,

Off the course from other lands,

Before becoming apart,

Before becoming isolated.

I see to this day,

I live on that island,

With my mother in hand.

I cannot bear the thought of leaving what could be left behind,

I cannot bear the thought of leaving what I love.

But somethings cannot stay the same,

Somethings cannot stay living on  forever.

I hold upon my hand my mother's.

I wish upon the dark starry night,

I wish I could stay with her just a bit longer,

I wish I could bring her with me,

But alas it cannot be helped.

I wish to bring my mother's kindness,

To the world,

So that I may continue,

Holding my mother in hand.

On that small island,

I wish to bring the kindness,

And hold on to it for the world,

And to remember it for myself.

Because one day I will be found,

I'm still holding on.
