Teacher, Teacher

Location

Teacher, teacher, don’t you understand?

You teach too fast and I can’t keep up

All you do is talk and talk,

And expect me to understand your less than engaging lectures.

Teacher, teacher, I feel like I’m falling behind

Everyone in class is so much smarter than me

I’m not at their level and it worries me;

Will I ever be as smart as I want to be?

Teacher, teacher, don’t you realize you aren’t my only class?

You pile on homework the size of Mount Rushmore,

While I still have more than enough homework for my other classes

I hope you realize you’re the cause of my sleep deprivation.

Teacher, teacher, you intimidate me so

You’re not the most approachable person

I wish I could as you all the questions I have,

But I don’t, because I’m just simply afraid.

Teacher, teacher, why did you even become a teacher?

Although you know the material, you lack the teaching ability

It makes me wonder what possessed you to go into the teaching field

When you can’t even educate me on what you majored in.

Teacher, teacher, please tell me why I feel this way about you

A student should feel welcomed into a classroom, not frightened

I come to school to learn,

But I feel that when I try to learn I just get lost.

Teacher, teacher, please hear me out

Lighten up on the homework,

Make class more interesting,

And just be more helpful.

Teacher, teacher, I don’t know what else I can do

Sometimes your old ways, don’t work on young students

It’s time for a change in the way that you teach

Oh teacher, teacher.
