A Superman, Kick- Ass, and mostly a friend

Location

I was sitting at the table hearing my friends talk

But I cannot say that I was listening, for something else caught my eye

Across from us was a boy, just like me, just like you, just like them

He was eating his lunch and all alone in despair.

Just watching as people did nothing but stare

Was the reason that made me pay such close attention

For he was only there with his sandwich and nothing else

Yet those evil boys felt the need to hurt him with words and shouts.

And thinking it wasn’t so bad I just continued to sit there

However, it got worse, but some courage inside made me get up

I then felt like a superman, a kick- ass, a friend

As I got closer to his table I was thinking of all I could say and all I could do

Yet when I reached him all I did, was say “Hi!”

I sat at the table and told them “Goodbye.”

It was at that moment it all felt so strange

Yet I could only feel his eyes staring at me as if I was his hero

I then, told him to not be scared because now his friend was there

He smiled at me, and that made it all so real

It was that smile that made me think

The world is so good, yet so cruel

And it is us who create it

So, then I hugged him tight and said, “Your Welcome”

My friends looked at me and knowing what was in my heart

They came on and hugged him, and all I knew was it was the beginning of a friendship welcome.
