Good morning, child.
It is time for us to wake.
The moon refuses to fade,
and the darkened sky will not show its stripes.
No time to wait for the sun.

How are we, presently?
"Who" would be better still.
But we cannot speak to either;
Time, the only true speaker.
No time to wait for the sun.

Do we walk the halls?
Or do we haunt them?
We suppose it is both.
Others pass us without notice.
No time to wait for the sun.

We despise silence.
We only fill it with our screams
Music hits us, ice for a fever.
Voices only mimic crowds.
No time to wait for the sun.

They call us a "ticking time bomb".
Self destructive, sometimes deadly.
We like the cuts, mostly.
Scars remind us that this pain is real.
No time to wait for the sun.

They say we feel too much.
Is that what these pills are for?
We take them all, every last one.
We morph; Is it a blessing, or a curse?
No time to wait for the sun.

We just wish they would like us...
But they are so hard to please.
The poison, it makes us conform.
If only they would understand.
No time to wait for the sun.

Find a window.
Night becomes Day.
Moon becomes Sun.
Poison becomes Medicine.
They becomes You.
We becomes Me.

The sun is warm; it dances across my face.
Reality is best seen in the light.
