The Sun to a Tree
She planted me, like a seed,
Out in the yard
There she watered me and fed me
And every day nurtured me
Till I was the tree i am today,
I was tested
The storms and the winds caught me
But they were testing to see
What was to become of me,
I fought and grew from every set back
And all along she was holding me
Til the day I was too big for her arms
And could face the storms by myself
That’s how she knew I was ready to be left on my own,
All those years she was with me
Helping me through every step
My mother was to me,
The sun to a tree,
The person that always nurtured me.
