The Sun (pt. 1)

Fri, 08/20/2021 - 15:24 -- Aegis

A sunbeam crashes through the mountain range

And explodes against the valley down below

People leave their homes and breathe in deeply

Carrying ecstasy with them while on they go

The sun is 93 million miles away from reaching

93 million miles away from their homes

The sun shoots down their sunbeams over eons

But the sun is shot no sunbeams of its own

The people once held worship of a sun god

And others to a different name and form

This god was often said to ride a chariot

Who’d never fail in riding back again next morn

Nobody can see the sun up close enough

Nobody can stare at it for long

Nobody can see the dark spots growing

Nobody can tell the sun is gone
