Summer Time

Summer Time:

Kids catching fireflies.

No sunscreen=being fried.

Making fires and s'mores.

Camping in the great outdoors.

Brain cells are dying.

Forgetting; we're trying.

Cannonballs and bikinis.

Roasting marshmallows and weenies.

Water melon and sweet corn.

New memories being born.

The sweet song of the ice cream truck.

You missed him! Oh, fudge! Better luck

Next time! Cardinals baseball games.

Thunder, lightning, and pouring rain.

Three months that vanish too fast.

We all knew it wouldn't last;

When the leaves changed and the air got cool

They would send us back to school.
