Summer of 1929

The summer of 1929 in the golden days,

I never wished for time to move,

We danced around and  undressed the day,

I held your hand while you held mines loose.

I wish I knew that “nothing gold can stay,”

Million dollar smile with dishonest truths ,

I never knew how much time could fade,

The summer of 1929 in the darkest days.
