Trying to choke away the pain.
Wishing for happiness to regain.

Cruel words were lashed at her on a daily basis,
She cried at night wondering why they would say this.
One day she got fed up and decided to act now, not later.
Pencil in her hand she painted her life on paper.
The words flowed easily,
her thoughts put down instantly.
She became a stronger person inside
No one could tear her down and make her cry.

Inner strength was all this girl could see.
