Stories Make It Seem Easy

Fairy tales fill us with hope of a happy ending,

Legends give us a purpose to achieve,

And Folk tales can give us a laugh from reality.

But reality has to take affect sooner or later

And when it does, it can have a big impact on your world

A Big impact like a car air bag

Or like a bag of marshmallows.

Many are not as lucky to have the marshmallows

Stories say “woke up with a bird chirping in my window”

I say “woke up with rain pouring in my window”

Many feel bad for the life I have

Legends say “greatness comes from within”
I say “My ‘within’ is empty”

Many want to compare my day to a fairytale

Fairytales say “Happily ever after”
I say “where’s my happy ending?”

I want to laugh; I want to smile
Folk tales say “Laughter is the best medicine”
I say “Then why do I still feel horrible?”

I’m sorry, but there is no such thing as a happy ending

There is no such thing as good in the world

And there is no such thing as true love.

I could list all the things stories, fairytales, and Legends seem to promise

But that would take a very long time

So much time that no one could live through.

So much time, that no one would ever see past.

So much time… so many promises…so many unkept promises

“Live life to what you want it to be”

“Let nothing stop you and nobody tell you different”

“Be the difference that you want in the world”

These are things I still yet have to believe

My mind just doesn’t want to believe anymore

And I still fail to see a change in a world

My problems…they need to be solved…

But I can’t do anything about it…

I feel so helpless…

Even when I try to be selfless…
