Stone
My heart cries out for the hammer's crack
old tight laced boots, a heavy pack
bright sun and sagebrush call me back
to prize secrets out of stone
Where the rocky peak joins earth and air
bold mountain top, wild zephyr's lair
none else but crow and lizard there
and camaraderie of stone
My soul comprised of sweat and dust
a core of boulder, touch of rust
to feed my heart rockhound I must
and seek the joy of stone
